01Accepting these Terms
These Terms govern your use of onevsx (the “Service”), run by the onevsx team (“we”, “us”). By using the website, creating an account, signing in through Steam or FACEIT, uploading a demo, or clicking “I agree”, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
02What onevsx is
onevsx is an independent project that turns Counter-Strike 2 demo files into statistics and multi-angle (multi-POV) video clips. It is an early-stage alpha, currently free of charge. Nothing in the Service is professional advice of any kind.
03Eligibility
You must be at least 16, or the age of digital consent in your country if that is higher, and able to form a binding agreement. If you use the Service on behalf of a team or organisation, you confirm you may bind it to these Terms.
04Accounts and signing in
You sign in with your existing Steam or FACEIT account through their official sign-in systems. New accounts start at the lowest access tier; any higher access is granted by us manually and may be withdrawn. One person, one account. You are responsible for everything done through your account and for keeping your devices secure. We may suspend or remove accounts that break these Terms.
05Your Steam / FACEIT account security
We use the official “Sign in through Steam” (OpenID) and “Log in with FACEIT” (OAuth) systems. This means:
- You enter your password only on Steam’s or FACEIT’s own website, never on ours.
- Signing in tells us who you are and your basic public profile. It gives no access to your inventory, items, skins, trades, wallet, purchases or Steam Guard, and no way to act on your account.
- We will never ask for your Steam password, your Steam Web API key or a trade link, and the Service has no feature that can trade or move items. Anyone, including a site pretending to be us, who asks for these is trying to scam you.
You are responsible for your own account security, including Steam Guard / two-factor authentication and any trade offer you accept. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for any loss, including loss of in-game items or skins, caused by phishing, by your own actions, or by the compromise of your Steam, FACEIT or other third-party accounts.
06No affiliation with Valve or FACEIT
onevsx is an independent, unofficial project. It is not affiliated with, sponsored, endorsed or approved by Valve Corporation, Steam or FACEIT. Valve, Steam, Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike 2 and CS2 are trademarks and/or registered trademarks of Valve Corporation in the U.S. and/or other countries. FACEIT is a trademark of its respective owner. We use these names only to describe what the Service works with.
07Your uploads
You may upload only demo files you are entitled to share with us, such as demos of matches you played or demos made publicly available. By uploading, you confirm this and that your upload does not break any law or anyone’s rights.
You keep whatever rights you have in your uploads. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, parse, analyse and render them, and to show the results to you and as described in the Privacy Policy, for as long as we need to run the Service. You can end this licence by deleting your account or asking us to delete the upload.
Demo files are untrusted input: we may reject, quarantine or delete any upload, including ones that are malformed, oversized or abusive. We do not promise to keep any upload, clip or stat for any period, and we may delete them at any time (see the Privacy Policy). We are not a backup service and are not liable for the loss of any demo, clip or stat.
08Clips and game content
Clips are recordings of Counter-Strike 2. The game’s footage, maps, models and other assets belong to Valve; we grant you no rights in them. You may use your clips for personal, non-commercial purposes, in line with Valve’s own rules for game videos. Clips show other players: do not use them to harass, shame or expose anyone.
09Stats are estimates
Win Chance, xFrags, duel difficulty and every other metric are statistical estimates computed from demo data. They can be wrong, incomplete or change when we improve our models. Do not rely on them for any decision that matters — in particular:
- do not use them for betting, gambling or wagering of any kind;
- do not present them as proof that anyone is cheating; onevsx is not an anti-cheat system.
10Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- present onevsx as an official Valve or FACEIT product, or suggest any affiliation with them;
- upload malware, files built to exploit our parser, or anything unlawful;
- disrupt, overload, probe or attack the Service or its infrastructure;
- scrape it, access it by bots or automated means, or resell or redistribute its data, except as we allow in writing;
- reverse-engineer it, or get around access tiers, limits or security controls, including by using several accounts;
- use it to harass, dox, stalk or impersonate anyone, or for any unlawful purpose.
11Free plan, limits and alpha
The Service is currently free. Usage limits (for example, demos per day, rendered duels and file size) are shown in the product and may change at any time. As an alpha, features may be incomplete, change or disappear, and data may be reset or deleted. If we introduce paid plans, they will come with their own terms, and we will never charge you without your explicit agreement.
12Our rights and your feedback
The Service — its software, design, metrics and the onevsx name — belongs to us and our licensors. These Terms give you only a personal, revocable, non-transferable right to use it. If you send us ideas, bug reports or other feedback, we may use them freely and without any obligation to you.
13Removal requests
If you believe something on the Service infringes your rights — your copyright, or your privacy as a player in someone else’s demo — write to hello@onevsx.gg with the address of the content, your SteamID where relevant, and why. We review requests and remove content where the request is justified. We may remove repeat infringers.
14Third-party services
The Service depends on Steam, FACEIT and other providers. Your use of them is governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for their availability, their content or their actions. If one of them changes or withdraws access, parts of the Service may stop working.
15Provided “as is”
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, FREE OF CHARGE, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, AVAILABILITY, SECURITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, MERCHANTABILITY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any data, stat or clip is accurate or will be kept.
16Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, GOODWILL, IN-GAME ITEMS OR SKINS, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSS, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.
Our total liability for all claims related to the Service is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the year before the claim (zero for a free Service) or EUR 50. Your sole remedy if you are unhappy with the Service is to stop using it. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing affects your mandatory rights as a consumer.
17Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, damage or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your uploads, your misuse of the Service or your breach of these Terms.
18Changes, suspension and termination
We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may update these Terms; when a change is material we will ask you to accept the new version the next time you sign in, and you can stop using the Service if you do not agree. You may stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access, including without notice for a serious or repeated breach. Sections 6 to 9 and 12 to 20 survive termination.
19Governing law and disputes
Governing law: International — these Terms do not choose the law or the courts of any one country, and are governed by the law that applies to them. Nothing in them takes away the protection that the mandatory law of the country you live in gives you as a consumer, or your right to bring a claim in its courts. Before bringing a claim, please contact us at hello@onevsx.gg so we can try to resolve it informally.
20General
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect and that provision is replaced by the enforceable one closest to its intent. Not enforcing a right is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer these Terms; we may transfer them to a successor of the Service. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control. If these Terms are translated, the English version prevails. Questions: hello@onevsx.gg.
